Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

LONG STORY SHORT: STAY CLEAR. I'M SO SERIOUS. DO NOT COME HERE JUST BECAUSE ITS CONVENIENT. LONG STORY: I stand by this with every fiber of my being: **JEFF SHOULD BE FIRED AND SHOULD NOT BE IN CHARGE OF THIS AAMCO.** I spent **$6,000** having a transmission rebuilt and an engine bracket replaced, only to have my vehicle come back with a **cylinder misfire**β€”an issue that should have been caught before my car was returned to me. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. Jeff was **rude, dismissive, repeatedly cut me off, and completely unhelpful**. He was also disrespectful toward the Indianapolis location manager. The way he handled the situation was **unprofessional, classless, and completely unacceptable.** When someone spends **$6,000 on major vehicle repairs**, the bare minimum is to expect the work to be properly completed and the customer to be treated with respect. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. **$6,000 spent, major repair work completed, and I am still dealing with an issue that should have been identified before my vehicle was handed back to me.** **RUN. RUN. RUN.** Do not spend your hard-earned money here until you have thoroughly

The service at this location in Crest Hill was so disappointing. This is my fourth time coming back to this location for the same code. The manager Jeff said it’s another part that I need to get and that might fix the problem. If it works I have to pay for another part. I already paid for a part the first visit I came in; which was supposed to have fixed the check engine light. I use my van for work. Each visit I have my van in the shop I’m not able to make money. This is my fourth time coming in for the same problem. The manager told me it’s out of his hands he will forward my case to M.Kopa who handle all of Chicago land. I asked how long will it take for him to call me? He replied β€œI don’t know whenever he call.” I paid for a problem that was not fixed.

Miguel is very nice and explains everything top to bottom even fees. They were fast and got me in and out in a reasonable time as someone who had to sit and wait! Thanks all your help! I'm giving 5 stars for customer service! I ultimately didn't get the repair because it was going to be more than what I paid for the vehicle.

Went in for check engine light. Charged me almost $200 for "diagnostics". After their "diagnostics" they told me everything i told them why I was dropping off the car. All they did was plug in a scan tool. They then tried to sell me another $700 in parts and labor for things my car doesnt even need. I asked " ok, I pay this 700 for you guys to swap all these parts and then we'll still be sitting here with the same problem I came in here with." He replied "its just the first step to see if it runs better". Instantly said i need a 2nd opinion because I know a little about cars and I knew they where trying to get me to buy BS parts and BS repairs. Ready to just start throwing random parts at my car, acting like money isn't a big deal. Brought my car to another shop, they test drove my car a couple times, fixed the problem, and didn't charge me a penny! Went from this shop trying to get almost $1000 off me and still wouldn't of had a working car, to a shop that fixed it for the love of cars and customer satisfaction. Be careful they act very friendly and they are knowledgeable but they use that for money grabs it feels like. Everytime i talked to them on the phone it felt like they we
